From 17 August, two new presences, two TOTEMS, emerge from the universe of the collection WATERMARKS – Marks from the Water, exhibited in the evocative setting of the National Museum of Villa Pisani in Stra, Venice, and arrive in Murano, at the NH Collection Murano Villa.

Fragments of a lagoon Atlantis, hidden beneath the surface of time. The warp of water, the weave of light, the intelligence of forms. Here, fabric becomes wave, the wave becomes architecture, and architecture becomes vision.

A memory that preserves traces.
A place where creatures emerge.

MAORI è il totem della memoria e dell’identità. Una sorta di pelle simbolica, una superficie sulla quale si deposita una storia. Il suo linguaggio richiama il rapporto antico tra l’uomo, il mare e la natura. MAORI rappresenta il legame con le origini, con il gesto rituale e con la memoria dell’acqua. È una creatura che porta sul corpo i propri segni, come se ogni traccia fosse una testimonianza di ciò che è stato.
MAORI is the totem of memory and identity. A kind of symbolic skin, a surface upon which a story settles. Its language recalls the ancient relationship between humankind, the sea and nature. MAORI represents a bond with origins, with ritual gesture and with the memory of water. It is a creature that carries its own signs upon its body, as though every mark were a testimony of what once was.
Vairuna
VAIRUNA è il totem del mistero e della libertà. È la creatura più sfuggente della collezione, quella che appartiene all’acqua più profonda e incontaminata. Il suo nome evoca un mondo sospeso, quasi mitologico, dove il confine tra creatura e elemento naturale si dissolve. VAIRUNA rappresenta l’acqua come spazio di metamorfosi: fluida, imprevedibile, seducente.
VAIRUNA is the totem of mystery and freedom. It is the most elusive creature of the collection, belonging to the deepest, most untouched waters. Its name evokes a suspended, almost mythological world, where the boundary between creature and natural element dissolves. VAIRUNA represents water as a space of metamorphosis: fluid, unpredictable, seductive.
